first of all, to eunice, who's been classmates with me for the most consecutive years, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
and today we had teachers' day celebrations. both a CJ and IJTP.
for CJ, the prayer service started and ended off well. everything looked so nice and perfect. i'm also am glad that i had the chance to play some reflective background music on my own though i only played
thy word. nonetheless, i enjoyed that. the concert was not bad, or as mr leong put it, of rather high standard. as usual, i enjoyed the dance performance though i could only watch it from backstage. seemed like old school, somewhat more pop that a hip-hop performance.
martin: good job for being part of the dance, and you looked nice in your costume. haha. and if i leave out the guitar people from our class, i think i might get slaughtered, so to the
guitar people in our class: good job too!then it was back to IJ to visit my teachers. that nostalgic feeling returned, as with every visit back to my alma mater. it was great to walk through the gates of the convent again, even as i wore another uniform. quickly met up with those from 4/1. in short, the concert was approaching its end, and as with a few other past concerts at IJ, it was hilarious too see teachers being enthu and so obliging to the girls...we couldnt help but cheer for them. and again, i miss all the cheering when you only heard the voices of girls and not those that were drowned by that of guys. oh and i saw mellie and jess today. and all my other juniors.
(: *that was a random statement* then it was the usual mad rush of IJ girls to pass teachers their gifts.
it was lunch with the 4/1 people, then
ratatouille with soonli, fran and szeching. the show is so heartwarming and cute, it can be considered a must-watch! neoprints with fran and soonli followed by a little walk walk, then home-sweet-home.
that was my day, nothing exceptionally special, only perhaps
marie is a happy girl.
busy busy...tired tired.

i've abandoned my blog for a good 9 days.
*sorry blog* quite a long time since i usually update my blog once every 3 days or so...
during this 9 days, there was germaine's departure for italy to study, JC1 retreat, and a nasty fall during PE no thanks to JA-MEI. now, i have this unsightly scar on my knee which is still on it's way to recovery.
anyway, without any doubt, it's all the stuff in school that's been taking up my time. more specifically, council. with CA facing a major event for every week of august, coupled with practices and rehearsals for all these events, how can one not get burnt out?
*marie, stop BMW-ing. you knew this would happen.* (BMW= bitch, moan & whine)thankfully, this fri, CA will be completing it's last major event of the year- teachers' day prayer service.
i'm not gonna spoil the surprise for all you CJCians out there. all i can say is that all of us are really excited. teachers included.
the last event we had, the JC1 retreat, was rather interesting. though joel said that he enjoyed it tremendously, contrary to his view, i'm sure i didnt enjoy it as much as he did. i'm really sorry if i disappointed anyone with what i just said, but there are a few factors that i think contributed to me having this perception. i wont list them down here, but all in all, i think the most enjoyable of it all are those that the CA-Wing were in charge of: action songs, morning praise...
shakespeare! marie is lost for words.
i miss you a lot a lot.
friends forever

again, the title says all.
in short,
IJ is LOVE.
went for the show with my 2 of my closest friends in class, germaine & joyce! and all i can say about last night is that with such a brilliant, excellent and pixel perfect performance, in such a place close to my heart, with the 2 people whose friendship i'll treasure for eternity, i could not ask for anything more.
i really loved last night. to bits and pieces. every moment, every minute, every second of it all.the whole thing really touched me, to the extent i felt like crying.
the history of IJ made me realise how much the infant jesus nuns from france sacrificed just to help orphaned girls get the rightful education they deserve.
i'm really proud to be an IJ girl. all for 10 years, and counting. because,
once an IJ girl, always an IJ girl.you're not the alumni, you will never say:
'I WAS AN IJ GIRL'.
you will always say:
'I AM IJ GIRL'.
what i've learnt as an IJ girl, i'll take it with me everywhere i go.

germaine's surprise farewell party

ytd's masterplan went well. the masterplan, is germaine's surprise farewell party, spearheaded by eunice and yours truly.
and so finally i can talk about it on my blog, without having to fear germaine reading about it. *my apologies to germs!!*
planning started on the day which we celebrated youth day. all the meticulous planning went quite well, with the exception of the furious replying of emails and pestering of people for their replies.
then came yesterday. loads of food *thanks francoise and joyce, and mijiao lor's attempt at pastries* and others *sorry if i miss any of you out* like pasta, potato salad, chicken pie and MUDPIE!
then came the AMBUSH. to lure germs into ijtp, saying that it was to visit teachers before her leaving for italy (on a sat afternoon! omg!) thanks to mijiao for that brilliant though cliche idea. we kept the ava room dark and quiet for like 20 mins (attempt would better describe it) until germs came. joyce practically pushed her in! then it was as if germs was hounded by the 4/1 paparazzi with photos of her somewhat astonished look. haha.
after the grand entrance it was time for food. natual reaction since everyone was hungry! francoise's chicken pie and mudpie disappeared the fastest. we all know that francoise makes the best mudpie!
then games. porsi's good effort at trying to make people do what they do best and yet still get forfeited *if you didn't get that, it's ok* qiyi was the poor soul who had to burst a balloon on cyn's lap, like how teena and abigail aka lulu did last year at the retro party.
more food, a little rest then emo emo session. emo emo session turned into a reminising session. with a video, with photos of us together as a class, kindly compiled by eunice.
after which we proceeded with a *ahem* scandal cum tell-all session. something like a truth or dare thing, with leftover pasta involved *no mess involved, just eating (: * shan't say too much here, but it was hmmm, interesting to hear all those stuff.
next was the passing of gifts to germs. a pinafore with all our signatures and a school belt with badges from various JCs, and a photo album with photos (not a good collection though)
germs: do you like the gifts?
then a little bit of talk talk session, clean up, visits by a few teachers, more talk talk, then ciao.
cam-whored during the whole party. nothing is complete with memories! here are some pics. gonna be quite long, bear with it. pics kindly complied, courtesy of eunice, porsi and yours truly (:
