liselle and clarabelle were going nutty about the significance of 29th february: a leap day which occurs every 4 years! turns out there's this irish tradition that falls on a leap day, so this is what i found on the net:
Tradition, Folklore and Superstition
A tradition was introduced many centuries ago to allow women to propose to men during a leap year. This privilege of proposing was restricted to leap day in some areas. Leap day was sometimes known as “Bachelors’ Day”. A man was expected to pay a penalty, such as a gown or money, if he refused a marriage offer from a woman.The tradition’s origin stemmed from an old Irish tale referring to St Bridget striking a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men every four years. This old custom was probably made to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how the leap day balances the calendar.It was also considered to be unlucky for someone to be born on a leap day in Scotland and for couples to marry on a leap year, including on a leap day, in Greece.so cool right?
so guys, during the remaining 4 hours 42 mins, give in to the girls lah! be obliged to do what a girl asks of you! :D

orientation 2 was fun fun fun!
IG 17 rocked!
solas house also rocked the other houses!
wont go into much elaboration about orientation, it's too much for 1 post, besides, it's hard to remember, and i'm tired. and i've lost my voice (so i sound like a dead chicken) and the muscles in my whole body are aching like crazy.
my IG was fantastic! thank you, IG 17 for being so enthu! it made my work a lot easier, and i had fun with you guys, playing games and cheering and letting you trash me with slime and starch and all that eeky stuff! from ice breakers, to numerous games in school, to ecp and finally house stuff, as long as you all had fun, i had fun too! (:
solas house also emerged victorious, albeit none of us were expecting this victory! coming up with sing-song cheers, countless hours of banner painting and making all the props...yay, all the worries not being 2nd best at everything to get best house really paid off! WHEE! SOLAS!
yay it's over. time to hit the books, big time.

HAPPY SEXY 17th BIRTHDAY!!!!you're a bunch of joy and hyperness, and it's been a joy having you as my sheep and such a close junior! like your other sheep, you cant be replaced, esp after all the
fantastic stories i've heard and YET to hear! HAHA. you're also always here to listen to the stupid problems i'm forever plagued with, that's why our friendship and relationship as sheep and shepherd, i hope, will and MUST LAST FOREVER AND EVER!

i stole the picture from google. haha. it's so sweet!
it's valentine's day today. of course, things were not like usual school day. loads of mushy, sweet, melt-your-heart stuff happened, HAHA, the things that teenagers do these days...
it's also friendship day for those who are anti-valentine's day. HAHA. there was tag-a-friend, where clothes pegs that could be personalised with messages were sold. despite our coming to school early, we didnt do the tagging announcement in the end, due to temperature taking. ARGHH. tag-a-friend is still considered a success to me, kudos to guin and weiqi!
but on to valentine's day. michelle and i gave every girl in class a stalk of HANDMADE rose, and everyone else, including the girls, got hershey kisses! "here's a kiss from michelle, and a kiss from marie! (:" and there was the inter-JC flower thing. got from joyce and soon-li! YAY. love you both! (: most flowers were from CJ people, kinda unexpected. it was a good haul this year, HAHA, jkjk.

but guin deserves to feel even MORE special. HAHA. wont elaborate here, guin will scream at me! matt too. well, they come in a package! HAHAHA. but i wanna watch the video! AWW!
at the same time, i'm confused. i'm not sure what to expect, how to act, how to think. yet i dont wanna avoid the whole issue, cos i've gone through it before, i think i can act rationally.
note to self: THINK.

this will be short and sweet, cos i gotta go to sleep!
to start off,
this morn was a real scare for me.my intuition was right! it really happened!
MUMMY FORGOT ME!she forgot to come back to send me to school!
me panicked and took a bus instead.
almost like a heart attack.
well, no harm done, i was still on time (thank goodness!) in fact, was ticked off by SO many of my friends for being a pampered brat.
i cant help if my mummy loves me LOTS LOTS.
*sticks out tongue*
HAHA, jkjk.
it's not mummy's fault, could tell when i came back from school today.
marie's fault, marie's fault.
i keep going at erratic times, so mummy gets blur. HAHA.

and today was F.A.R.M. ( i realised i havent talked about CNY and ash mass, will do it another day)
i was lighting the candles before the session began. and it was quite difficult to light them all cos the wick was just a small thingy sticking out of the wax.
and i suddenly associated it with something so relevant:
that God is the one lighting the candle within us. loving us so much.
and lighting the candles is also equivalent to getting others to follow in the path of God, to accept God's love.
there are those that light up easily: they accept readily.there are those that take time to light up: they are hesitant to accept.there are those that refuse to light up: they dont wanna accept.and i was reminded of a friend of mine.
a half-catholic at heart, but not in name.
the desire for a crucifix around the neck is a sign of hope. the hope that i see in him wanting to follow Christ our Lord.
YOU HAVE MY UTMOST SUPPORT.

4/1 CNY GATHERING! (:WED, 6 FEB'08
meet @ IJTP (after CNY celebration at your college)LUNCH @ PASTA MANIA (current plan)
RSVP to JOYCEi dont know what to update about. just that this week has pretty much been mundane, with the hw piling up, the fatigue setting in. arghh, PE (PT) on tues. furthermore, so many people having been asking to meet up, from CJ friends to IJTP ex-classmates. exciting yes, but omg SO MANY PEOPLE! my only saving grace: the 4 day long weekend from CNY!
this mini conversation-pick-up-line conversation happened between me and michael on wed before SC meeting:
michael (MDS): do you wanna hear a joke?
me (MT): what?
MDS: *holds a baby bugs bunny tissue box* is that you on the box? (pauses for a while, doesn't really know how to complete the line)
