as positive as may seem, i think i can be pretty negative at times. ok make that all the time. it sucks lah to always be so negative, but i haven't got much clue why i'm like that. so it's weird to hear jet tell me eons ago about how what i post on my blog always seem so positive- it's cos i only choose to blog about the positive stuff, the negative stuff are still there, except i don't post for the world to see.
hate to blog about it but as my facebook status suggests, i do have mixed feelings about how 2009 is gonna end. the month of december, while has it's fair share of ups, has more downs than i'd expected. driving test was a terror last week, and that statement ought to suffice what it was all about. results day was another nightmare, though i half-expected to get what i got. i don't understand, however, the breakdown of some of my grades, which has left me quite confused as to what i should do to pull up my grade next sem. but i guess the most obvious thing would be to study harder and EARLIER, hopefully make up for a terrible grade for a first year student in her first sem.
but as nic and liselle commented on my facebook status, focus on the positive; which is what i'll try to do. on a more optimistic note, it's christmas eve already, hee, it's probably the best time of the year, and i'm loving it <3
Merry Christmas y'all, God bless you for a fantastic year ahead.
busy bee!

11.
piano book. 'West Coast Jazz Piano by Gene Rizzo, $33 from Yamaha'. can be found at plaza sing outlet cos that's where i spotted it.
12.
lip gloss (xmas edition) from body shop ~ mum gave me a l'occitane cherry blossom flavour lip gloss that her friend gave her (:
i haven't been here for almost 2 weeks, all thanks to the massive number of activities that have kept me occupied from day to night. it's been awesome, to say the least, and of course i enjoyed myself thoroughly.
since i left off, i have rockband-ed with ML. it was some serious cool stuff- we started off with the original rockband songs, but cos they became too unfamiliar, and cos there were too few songs (we had to manually unlock the songs), we switched to the Beatles half way through, had a whale of a time setting new high scores. this time we even sang, so that was something new for both of us (: i guess ML wrote about it better on her blog, so what i said doesn't exactly do justice to the immense fun we had that afternoon :D
then there was my driving lessons/test the next few days; shan't say anymore about them, lest it stirs up some unpleasant emotions within me.
and there was shopping at orchard with mum and sis. we (or i) bought some stuff like i'd planned, finally got my new wedges YAY thanks mum :D
friday and monday was movie day at my place with him, watched bedtime stories and ocean's eleven respectively. but since i had to work friday evening, he followed me there and watched the kids (:
saturday was css biz retreat, which was quite good, albeit having spent such a short time there, while sunday was work practically the entire day. lunched with him, and then went hunting for a birthday gift for his mummy at PS. not only did we find one for her, no thanks to the christmas promotion at perlini's, he ended up buying a pair of earrings for me too! so THANK YOU ernest, absolutely love it love it love it (:
daddy came back on tuesday afternoon, so i decided to stay home after driving to spend some time with daddy. but the tired marie decided to nap before dinner, and daddy being daddy, returned home to his beloved sound system and blasted it the rest of the day :P
wednesday evening he brought me to the singapore flyer. dinner-ed at tao's at paradiz, at my mummy's recommendation and generous sponsorship. i think i can say we thoroughly enjoyed the 7-course dinner (!!); for him, he especially adored the starter of toast and baked cheese. haha! the singapore flyer, on the other hand, was not bad. the city skyline was quite pretty from
on top of the world (pun intended omg how lame can it get right?). got some great pictures since he knew exactly how to tinker with my camera to really capture the sights; so kudos to you ernest!

thursday we went cycling at ECP! though the sky gods sent rain in the morning, it was pretty clear in the afternoon for us, we even had sun, which left me with a not-so-pretty-but-much-desired arm tan. we cycled 5 hours, from ECP to changi and back, clocking in a grand total of 36km each! *gives myself a pat on the back for a job well done!* in all, it felt quite good to get some form of exercise after a LOOOOOONG hiatus, and i feel fitter already hee.

friday was rest time in the morning. met him in the afternoon to do some shopping (he bought stuff, i didn't, i'm so proud of us!) before heading to the esplanade for the budak pantai concert! it was quite awesome for a first-timer like me. i guess their performance was quite heartfelt and very real, maybe cos it's infused with local elements like hokkien and cantonese, for instance. and since it's not your usual rock concert (this is largely acoustic/acapella), it was a breath of fresh air and quite an eye-opener too, which makes me realise why my friends adore budak pantai so much haha. (:

saturday i finally went for novena service after few weeks' hiatus due to sheer laziness/preparation for exams, before meeting him
yet again (rest assured i'm not complaining) for lunch. went back to town in attempt to search for the stripped cardigan i spotted from forever 21.but failed to buy cos my stupid hesitation
ARGH I WANNA KICK MYSELF FOR THAT. but of course, 2 dozen other girls must be of the same size as me, and love the same stuff as me, so they ran out of stock then, so i'm either left with buying one in another colour, another size, or just stealing my mum's cardigan which looks equally pretty. hahaha. headed to my place for tea, which really stretched over to dinner. during the in-betweens, we caught 2 episodes of sytycd 6 (!!) which was pretty good (:
sunday was popiah dinner, and mummy invited him over, much to my surprise! (: being the expert popiah-artist (they call the people who make your subs at subway sandwich-artists) i learnt the proper way to wrap a popiah! haha. and mr expert wrapped one for me himself! and can i say i felt paiseh yet pampered like a little princess? :D
and then there was yesterday, monday. went for my first and only carolling performance with the css music ministry (mm) people. though it was a small group of 7 of us (2 each for sops, alto and tenors and 1 for bass), i think we did quite well. felt that sense of satisfaction and fulfilment after the short performance, and i can't wait to sing like that again (: went back home after carolling to catch the finale of survivor (which was quite exciting, though i didn't follow the entire season). also chiong my christmas gifts, which were not only done at the end of the day, but also nicely wrapped! phew! which means it's time to send my painting supplies back to the cupboard heh (:
gonna meet my ex piano teacher with sis in a while, thank goodness i managed to finish all that i wanted to blog in the last hour. can't really believe it's christmas already, ahhhh, what a great holiday it's been so far (and will be!)
finally back!

marie is finally back, free as a lark! ok not all that free, but more stress-free that's for sure. since exams have ended (i'm leaving the details of exams out so , i've been out everyday, literally, it's kinda scary, but fulfilling too. (: but before i go on to my weekend, here's my wish list for christmas, updated! (:

bomber jacket?
daddy left for uk on thursday night so we went to send him off. friday was running errands with sis in the morning, facial with mum and sis during lunch, then the sispec guys' POP at pasir leba, which btw, is almost like going to malaysia! (miss the bus stop and we'll be heading to the tuas checkpoint.) the POP wasn't any different from other marching parades i've been to, but what was better was that i managed to take photos with as many of my guy friends who were passing out- no pun intended.

i spent my entire saturday with him- caught 'the informant', which was quite an intellectual movie, and i kinda kept up with the pace of the movie considering how i didn't sleep all night cos i was completing his gift! went window shopping in between, like duh, bought a dress from the flea at timbre. dinner was at raffles place at this nice pizza parlour, after which the rain spoilt the night for any photo-taking by the river (is it singapore river?) with the beautiful lights by the water.
sunday i finally went back to work, after a 3 week hiatus! ms t. didn't come, which kinda disappointed me a little? cos i was really looking forward to having her in class! he reached SBA after his church service and watched the little girls while waiting for me to finish class. then it was lunch, followed by the MAAD flea at the red dot design museum, where there was some serious camwhoring (the photos on fb aren't even all of them! i deliberately left out the really bad ones.) however after enough practice at the POP and saturday, we actually do have some nice shots :D

yesterday i met up with my nephew, after having not seen him in a year (since he studies in aussie.) watched a comedy (i'm sure any of you will cringe at the choice of movie so i shall leave that detail out), then lunch at Toast at taka, which he had ben raving about since i first brought him there last year. window shopped a while, before heading back, and then having both our families meet for dinner at vines for some catch-up over food.
and today i went for carolling practice with the css music ministry people! my first time singing in a choir was really fun, i especially loved how SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) came together after spliting into sections to produce a song that sounded much fuller and complete (: after lunch with mum and more window shopping on my own, i went home to finish watching the remaining episodes of my 9pm chinese drama *beams like a little girl deprived of her dramas* while rushing out more accessories for my blogshop.
ooh and i've got a pair Lenka concert tickets, any one interest in going? i can sell to you heh.
ah, what a fulfilling and happy weekend it's been. can't wait for the next few days of activities :D heh ROCKBAND TOMORROW AT ML'S!!
