i've gotten really lazy the past month. firstly, uni is starting in just under a week's time so like any other freshie to be like me (i think), i'm taking a break from reality, and focusing on the present. ok, reality is a pain in the butt cos it keeps haunting me ever so often, but doing the things i wanna do before i officially start the rigours of a student once again keeps all those thoughts away from me. so YES, DO NOT remind me that i've got less than a week to go; cos I KNOW THAT ALREADY.
during the past week i've been engaging in 2 main activities- meeting up with people, and driving. wednesday i met mich law for lunch, and i promised we had no plans to co-ordinate but we wore the EXACT same colours: white collared 3/4-sleeve shirt and jeans! talk about coincidences! (soon-li and i almost wore same colours once when we were in orchard). saturday was the main highlight of the weekend cos sam was in town for the weekend to catch liverpool, and so some of us from the class took the chance to meet up with her over dinner. that was awesome cos it's a girlfriend i haven't and won't be seeing in AGES!! more to come the next few weeks: 4/1 lunch and CAWing!
last week was the last of my working on weekdays at the SBA. it was kinda sad, having been with the SBA since february...and that makes it almost 6 months! it was my last time playing for miss w. and miss l. and miss l. didn't come on friday! ): so i couldn't pass her the farewell gift i'd prepare for her. fellow pianist jasmine also stopped last week after extending her stay a number of times due to apparent lack of pianists.
finally, i've been continuing driving lessons. yesterday's weather gave me the chance to drive in moderate rain, which proved to be quite an experience. driving past the same routes today with clear blue skies and fluffy white clouds opened my eyes to how different road conditions are in different weather. heh, and i've this big problem of not signalling when i move off when a car is stationary at the road side. MUST.REMEMBER.TO.SIGNAL.
and tomorrow i wanna proclaim: HELLO WHITE FUJITSU LAPTOP :D
another long due!

it might have a bit of truth when i say that i've gotten a tad lazy to blog nowadays.
nonetheless, due to a certain someone's request *cough ernest cough* here's one, and i solemnly promise i'll be back in no time!
since i left off, the family has celebrate daddy's birthday (happy belated birthday daddy). following which a few days later (i checked my phone so i can recall what notes i stored in there cos like dory the fish i lack quite some short-term-memory for now) there was the the class (t14) outing at kallang for ice skating. that was fun, and no doubt it brought back numerous memories of the class at fuji ice palace 2 years ago where were had heaps of fun pulling each other down, accumulating blueblacks all over our limbs and most importantly creating a human train with martin as our 'train' master!
mich's necklace :D

from this...

...to this!
the next afternoon M&M came together! before our 'mission' of the day it was the usual girl thing- shopping! and our last minute decision to head to arab street to hunt for beads for mich's customised necklace was nothing short of fruitful. later on we headed down to toni&guy academy for our haircuts! and for the normalcy of uni we went opted for the classic haircuts instead- only that we were greeted with a 4-hour-haircut as opposed to the 2 hours the last time. and of course we left satisfied. (:
tuesday i went for my first driving lesson which was fun fun fun! :D it felt so different (and powerful for that matter) to be half in control of a moving vehicle! in the afternoon i headed down to SOTA to watch a class, which was truly enlightening and eye-opening.
thursday was lunch with my pianist buddy at SBA jasmine before work. over ramen, we talked loads and exchanged 'farewell' gifts. THANKS GIRL FOR YOUR EARRINGS, in your words, SO PWETTY!!!! (:
driving again for thursday and friday, during which i had quite a nice instructor who brought me out to the roads as early as my 2nd lesson, and also chatted with me about *can you believe it* uniform colours among others during the whole of the 1st hour in the circuit!
saturday was lunch with my nus alum group, and sunday was harry potter 6 with ernest (finally, HARRY POTTER!!).
and then you have today, which, essentially, was driving after lunch and then this post.
there's this part of me that can wait for uni to start, but can't wait for this weekend to come! haha.
i solemnly 'swear' i'm up to no good.
my bad!

the past week has been kinda crazy, with loads of opportunities coming my way!
first since i last blogged, the 4 of us met up- delle, germaine, joanne and i had a great time at wisma's din tai fung over dinner, exchanging gifts, updating each other about our
fabulous post A level/IB life. THANKS GIRLS FOR YOUR GIFTS! (: a pity joyce couldn't join us cos of church.
saturday was dinner at NUS cos sis went to watch paul to musical with her friends.
monday was the day i got hooked onto bejeweled and typing maniac on facebook. so my entire monday was spent in front of the computer playing facebook games. how
awesome is that.
tuesday through friday a rare opportunity presented itself to me- i was asked to work in ij as a relief teacher! it was a good experience, and contrary to what i was thinking, the girls were actually quite good, special mention to the sec 4 classes i took- you girls were great and it was a pleasure teaching you all! naturally some parts of my experience there felt weird, especially the many occasions in the staffroom where i actually get to sit in the vicinity of teachers who used to teach me! germaine was there the whole week too, eunice came in to relief teach only on thursday while needless to say, MJ has been there since last term. the whole experience in my alma mater was refreshing, cos i can now see things with a whole new perspective. but of course that alone is not enough for me to wanna take up teaching as a full-time career for now.
sunday was work as usual in the morning. in the afternoon i made a request to mum to bring me to the MAAD flea at the red dot design museum. after doing a little shopping (somehow everytime i go out now i can't go home empty handed. OH NO!) we went down to the esplanade to sis's popcorn pop shop where they sold official movie merchandise. after much deliberation she finally got her Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince poster that you might just see at bus stops. heh. we bought some other stuff, explored the shops at the esplanade (which are actually quite nice!), before heading home for the day.
yesterday was shopping! haha. i've been shopping with many friends but it was a first with germaine! spent the afternoon combing shops in the orchard area in search for clothes clothes clothes. the perfect reason/excuse for all these shopping now is so that we have suitable clothes for work/uni! haha. finally i got a vest and dress shorts- a pretty denim one from mango and a nice black pair from esprit respectively. the shopping spree was great, having not bought apparel or walking around shops during the month of june (WHEN WE HAD THE MOST PRIVILEGES AS CARD MEMBERS OF DIFFERENT SHOPS!) and yes, all you who read this may label me as a shopaholic. i don't think i can really deny that anymore HAHAHA! dinner was at the popular chomp chomp food centre at serangoon gardens. sis was eating there with her ij friends, and after walking around the area, mum, dad and i wound up eating there too, mostly cos i persuaded them to go there to try the food since it was their first time there. we decided that chomp chomp is very much like newton hawker centre, minus the touts heh.
today, after a 1 week break, i went back for my final painting class before uni begins. i completed my stroke work piece consisting of a bouquet of flowers, and i'm glad it turned out well even as my strokes with the brush has loads of room for improvement. and i know i've been wanting to do this for a long time but i will upload pictures of the pieces i've done up here!
lastly, a fabulous offer from our local School Of The Arts (SOTA) has come my way! in short this move by SOTA helps to promote the presence of dance accompanists, otherwise known as pianists that help provide music for dancers; and standing between my way are the audition and interview. i'm definitely interested in working there as an accompanist, but if only it came at a time when i would be more free! heh. i can't really find the words to explain how i feel (i'm not that good of a writer to do so) but let's just say i hope this will work out and become something great!
till the next time! hopefully it won't be soon before long! :D
