Backdating this post!
Finally this month, Ernest and I found these babies- crumpets! At none other than Marks & Spencer! Now we hope that these don't disappear from Singapore shelves again, otherwise I'd be super heartbroken!
Ramen with the family at Bari-Uma at United Square for Mum's birthday cum Mother's Day celebration (: glad that the family enjoyed the dinner albeit it was a bit pricier than normal! Happy birthday mum <3
After enduring a tough week at work, I finally brought the boyfriend to Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters at Upper Thomson on the Saturday before Mother's Day. I had the breakfast, while Ernest had the multi-cheese Mac-and-cheese. It was AWESOME. Rich and creamy, and a decent portion! Coffee was great too (took some from the boyfriend cos my stomach is too weak to take strong coffee like this :/)
And we FINALLY tried Chocolate Origin's molten lava cake with ice cream while we were out one of the weekends! It was delicious- the lava was molten enough, gooey and warm! The ice cream was a great touch to the dessert, but proportionately it was a little more than I'd like. But still worth the $5!! :D
I went back to CJ for Careers Day to speak on accountancy! It was a pretty good experience meeting seniors (ie partners and directors in the same industry) who were my fellow speakers in accountancy, and meeting my ex-teachers (like the lovely Mrs La'Brooy in the picture above) and students of current years. Not too much has changed in the school, till now it still brings back memories of the crazy 2 years there (:
Coincidentally, I had been plagued with migraines for a couple days this month too. I took the day off not only for CJ Careers Day but to also pay the doctor a visit. At the same time I brought mum to Creamier ice cream cafe, which is located near my GP, and this is what we had- rum & raisin and Thai milk tea ice cream with waffles!
Ernest stayed over last weekend because it was a long weekend due to the Vesak Day holiday. This was dinner on Friday night- Squid Ink pasta at The Wicked Garlic at International Plaza in town, at Ernest's suggestion to try this place. It worth the $$ and the food is decent (:
Closing off the month of May was our first trip to Kranji (almost Malaysia hahaha). We headed to the Kranji Counteyside Farmers Market- probably the closest to weekend markets we visited overseas! There was the pets area in additional to food, and potted plants such as flowers and herbs (which I would love to have provided I had more time, patience and commitment to take care of them). It was a good trip there we we enjoyed it (:
May's passed and June's next- my birthday is coming up soon too and I think it'lol be interesting days ahead as I hit a quarter-century/life milestone!!
