Weekend of firsts

I was pretty glad for last weekend. Other than the break that I always love and cherish, there were a couple of firsts with the boyfriend!
1. He accompanied me to the doctor's (cos' I'm down with a terrible flu) and waited for me.
2. We had his favourite chye tao kuay (white, spicy!) at TP, which is near my doctor.
3. We washed my parent's car together.
Yeah nothing big but it was quite sweet from the perspective of a girlfriend (:
Over the weekend I also received my belated Vday present from him, which had just arrived from Accessorize online. It was pretty and I must say my boyfriend has good taste in picking out accessories for me :D Also did a little shopping for gifts and in the process got a new bagpack for travelling for myself at a great discount. Haha. Feel quite happy about it (:
That was Saturday. And then came Sunday, when I met Teena for a long lunch at J8. We talked for hours at Crystal Jade, and the waitresses were so nice as to keep pouring tea for us. It's great to know how Teena has evolved into quite a spiritual person (: It was great talking to her, and being sprung with surprises as with each time I meet her. Sunday night was Liselle's BBQ and I had the opportunity to meet a lot of old friends. Jocelyn was there, and she brought Elvis her ukelele, and everyone started strumming up to her songs. I left early unfortunately for CNY dinner with dad's former students, and that's how the weekend went (:
Looking forward to another great weekend with friends and family! (:
CNY, Valentine's Day

So it's about 3 weeks since my last post. Been a little busy working, and preparing for CNY. But alas I'm back (again)!
CNY was pretty ok this year. It's the first without my grandma around, and that probably left many of us in my extended family guessing how things would be like this year. Apart from the usual congregating at my place this year, as with the past decade, some of us decided to pay grandma and grandpa a visit at the temple/crematorium on the first day of CNY. We made the trip, and it was meaningful to do so too. Uncle Vincent had said that it was the first time that more than just one or two family members had gone to visit my grandparents during CNY, so the folks up there, I'd guess, would be pretty happy. For all we know, this may be some sort of tradition in years to come. And seems like it's things like these that make the family closer knit.
Next highlight is Valentine's Day. Finally, Ernest and I got to celebrate it on the day itself, without having to shift plans a day earlier/later. We had never been able to celebrate Valentine's Day on the day itself due to other commitments (first year coincided with first day of CNY, other years were due to school commitments on my side). It was pretty no-frills this year. We headed for dinner after I'd knocked off from work to the Standing Sushi Bar for a lovely Vday set meal, and then just walking about some parts of town. And speaking of gift exchange, due to a little spoiler from Accessorize (online), I'd already known for about a week and a half what Ernest would be getting me (for the record, I'd spoken to him about the surprise spoiler!). So right now it's just the wait till my gift arrives (: as for Ernest, I hope he likes the tee and handmade card I got him (:
Apart from the above, the weather has been really cooling with lotsa rain since I got back, which is good cos' it's not too warm for most of the time, but it gets pretty wet and troublesome when we have to head out.
Looking forward to more good things coming my way; I hope to remain in Singapore for a while and spend time with my loved ones whenever I can.
